Understanding the virus, preventing deaths, avoiding chaos, revealing facts and prepare the ground for social support for measuresscience, politics and society came closer together during the pandemic, but at the same time there were also confrontations. Very early on, January 2020, more frequent meetings were suddenly held in the House of Academies, in which the pandemic was anticipated. The question ‘How can science be of benefit to society?’ was and is at the forefront.
